"Lou and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making us such a beautiful huppa and also for sending it so promptly. It really added a lot of drama to our wedding. We had four young people holding it and walking down the isle with it and then they held it for the entire ceremony. Then they marched out with it too. Quite a show! We will try to send you a picture soon. Love, "

ABOUT

Hello, and congratulations again on your upcoming wedding! My name is Tasya Sherman. Originally from Kiev, Ukraine, my family practiced many Askenazi “shtetl” traditions. I have always been involved in creative arts: worked in art galleries and represented artists. I have also worked on many theater projects including set design.

A few years ago, a friend who was getting married asked my help in finding a perfect chuppah. She did not want to spend a lot of money on a floral chuppah that would be taken apart right after the ceremony, never be seen again and she did not like any of the silk scarf type chuppot available online or in stores because she did not believe that they would photograph well or look good to the guests from a distance. I thought that it was a wonderful opportunity to combine my artistic abilities with my interest in traditional Jewish customs and offered to design and create a truly TRADITIONAL CHUPPAH. I made my first chuppah from an exotic Eastern fabric taking special care to create wide, gold-embroidered side panels that would be very visible to the guests. The chuppah was a great success! Shortly afterwards, I got a request to make another one, then one more and pretty soon, I had to hire an assistant to help me manage a growing demand for traditional chuppot.

All the chuppot you see on this site are made by me and my assistant Dinah. If you need help with a custom order, I will be able to offer you various colors and assist you with size selection. I understand how very important your wedding ceremony is and will make sure that your chuppah is perfect in every way.

Mazel Tov,
Tasya Sherman
