"Lou and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making us such a beautiful huppa and also for sending it so promptly. It really added a lot of drama to our wedding. We had four young people holding it and walking down the isle with it and then they held it for the entire ceremony. Then they marched out with it too. Quite a show! We will try to send you a picture soon. Love, "

TRADITIONAL CHUPPOT

Your special day is just around the corner and you are busy with the exiting preparations for your ceremony and celebration. Making your vows under the chuppah is a time-honored sacred tradition and the chuppah itself is an important part of the celebration. The familiar version of the chuppah, an open canopy held up by four poles came from the Ashkenazi Jews in medieval Europe who transformed it from a tent that was raised for the newlyweds in ancient Israel. It was customarily made from exotic and festive fabrics with gold or silver embroidery.

The traditional chuppah like the ones our forefathers used need not be used just once for your wedding and then forgotten. It can be raised again over your child’s naming ceremony or bris as a symbol of protection. It can be kept as an heirloom and you can start a family tradition by using it again at future weddings and special events. We would be honored if you would consider one of our TRADITIONAL CHUPPOT for your very special day and we wish you MAZEL TOV!

All our chuppot are hand sewn from carefully chosen, rich Eastern fabrics. They have a traditional canopy shape with gold embroidered side panels and we do provide "sleeves" for the poles to complete the look.

Our chuppot are made to be viewed from up-close and at a distance and they photograph beautifully. Please see our chuppot selection in the Gallery. Our readily available chuppot are about 40"x 90", which is a sufficient size for the two of you, maid of honor, the best man and the rabbi to be under the canopy. We can offer you a wide range of colors and fabrics.

Traditionally the Chuppah is hand-held and it is a great honor to be a pole bearer but you may also secure the poles on stands or in flower pots. For more information about raising your chuppah, please go to the Assembly page.
